case Law (n.)

-Law based on judicial decision and precedent rather than on statutes.

Constitution (n.)
-The fundamental law of the United States, framed in 1787, ratified in 1789, and variously amended since then.

curriculum (n.)
- All the courses of study offered by an educational institution.
- A group of related courses, often in a special field of study:
curricular (adj.)
- of or relating to an academic course of study

Declaration of Independence (n.)
- the declaration of the Congress of the Thirteen United States of America, on the 4th of July, 1776, by which they formally declared that these colonies were free and independent States, not subject to the government of Great Britain.

expression (n.)

neutral (adj.)

- Having or showing belief in and reverence for God or a deity.

sectarian (adj.)
- Of, relating to, or characteristic of a sect.
- Adhering or confined to the dogmatic limits of a sect or denomination; partisan.

secular (adj.)
- Worldly rather than spiritual.
- Not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body: secular music.
- Relating to or advocating secularism.
- Not bound by monastic restrictions, especially not belonging to a religious order. Used of the clergy.

Supreme Court (n.)
- The highest federal court in the United States, consisting of nine justices and having jurisdiction over all other courts in the nation.
- The highest court in most states within the United States. Also called high court.

viewpoint (n.)
- a point of view.


The reason that “curricular” expression cannot be religious is because the government would then be supporting a specific religion. Basically, the following formula can be used for the term “curricular” when it comes to the separation of church and state: curricular = government = complete neutrality in religious affairs.
