Beliefs
A New Guard stands behind these principles:
1. That all men are created equal, [and] that they are endowed
by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights;
2. That Congress shall pass no law respecting an establishment
of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
3. That
public school systems being “the marketplace of ideas” must
allow and facilitate all competing student philosophies without
discrimination against any particular one, despite whether or
not that belief can be paralleled in whole or in part to a church
or the belief in a higher power;
4. That true tolerance of opposing viewpoints can only be achieved
in a setting that permits all points of view to be presented
without discrimination.
