Holidays

Despite popular belief, students (and public school systems) have the right to celebrate Christmas! The Christmas Holiday has long been under “attack” from those who believe that celebrating Christmas in the public schools would ultimately be a violation of church and state separation (the establishment clause.) In fact, many schools have changed “Christmas Vacation” to “Winter Vacation” which is completely unnecessary. Congress recognizes Christmas as a National Holiday on December 25th and even calls it “Christmas.” The Supreme Court has acknowledged this practice and approved it.
Furthermore, students have the same rights to expression of religious holidays as they do within the realms of other expression. (See the relevant category for the form of expression that is in question.)
