Excusal from Assignments in Conflict with Religious Beliefs
Most schools enjoy a great deal of freedom to excuse students
from assignments or lessons that are in conflict with a student’s
or a student’s parent’s religious beliefs and practices.
Because there is no Federal right for a student to be excused
from work, it subject to State law. Because A New Guard focuses
primarily on federal law, we can only suggest that the reader
collect more information from the state in which they reside.
Additionally, and for the same reasons, A New Guard cannot supply
its readers with a “Take Action” document.
